With the advent of 76 million baby boomers into the Medicare ranks by 2011, this trend will increase dramatically. The result? Breaking sterile fields, endangering the patient along with an unprecedented growth of ‘never events’ etc.

As of November 1 2008, the National Institute of First Assisting, NIFA is the only RNFA Program to support OR management education as an AORN Corporate Partner. In this new role, we will be helping the ORs management facilitate and insure Safe Practices with programs to address this new influx of practitioners as well as all disciplines of first assistants in surgery.
